Xiaomi 15 series repair costs outside warranty revealed

Xiaomi released the official repair prices for the new Xiaomi 15 series over on Xiaomi Mall, revealing significant expenses for major component replacements. If you have the Xiaomi 15 with the 12GB+256GB setup, swapping out the motherboard will set you back 2,640 yuan (~$372). The 16GB+1TB model will set you back with a heftier 3,130 yuan (~$441) price tag—about the same as the Redmi K70 Extreme Edition, for some perspective.

Screen repairs are also expensive and vary between models. The standard Xiaomi 15 display replacement is 670 yuan (~$94), but the Pro’s fancier curved screen is 910 yuan (~$128).

Repairing the camera systems follows a similar trend, with Pro model parts generally costing a bit more across the board. The replacement costs for the primary camera and ultra-wide lens are similar for both the standard Xiaomi 15 and the 15 Pro. However, the telephoto lens on the 15 Pro is notably pricier due to its premium lens design, which is the same lens used in the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. The 15 Pro telephoto lens replacement costs ¥430 ($60.6), while the telephoto lens on the regular Xiaomi 15 costs ¥150 ($21).

Under the hood, both models are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Extreme Edition processor and come equipped with 50-megapixel Leica triple-camera setups. The Pro stands out with a Sony IMX858 periscope telephoto lens, offering the same impressive 120mm optical focus as the Xiaomi 14 Ultra.
