Xiaomi 15 Ultra: Camera details of Xiaomi's Galaxy S25 Ultra rival revealed in new leaks
Xiaomi recently launched the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro in China as two of its premium devices for this generation. The company's actual flagship, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, remains in the works, however, and will rival Samsung's Galaxy S25 Ultra, with new leaks now revealing more information on the phone's camera hardware.
As shared online, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will arrive with the same 50 MP main camera as this year's Xiaomi 14 Ultra—the 1/0.98-inch LYT900. It's said to be joined by a 50 MP 1/2.76-inch S5KJN5 beneath a 14mm ultra-wide angle lens. Sadly, that seems to be a step back from the Xiaomi 14 Ultra (buy on Amazon), which features a larger 1/2.51-inch for its ultra-wide angle camera.
Xiaomi's "Ultra" models have pushed the envelope in terms of zoom and the 15 Ultra looks set to continue on that path. The upcoming flagship is tipped to retain the 50 MP IMX858 for its 3x telephoto camera, but will swap out the second zoom camera for impressive hardware.
Gone is the 1/2.51-inch 50 MP sensor beneath a 120mm lens; in its place is a much larger 1/1.4-inch 200 MP sensor sitting underneath a 100mm lens. That implies a downgrade from 5x zoom to 4x zoom, but performance can be expected to improve, considering the much larger sensor. Lastly, a 32 MP OV32B40 is expected to sit in front as a selfie snapper.
