Haier Y16: New 16-inch laptop is now official with Intel i5 processor
The Y16 is a new affordable laptop from the China-based electronics brand, Haier. The model features a large 16-inch IPS LCD (anti-glare) screen with a 1920 x 1200 pixels resolution and a standard 60Hz refresh rate. The panel also has 100% sRGB color gamut, and Haier claims that it provides accurate color reproduction.
Under the hood, the productivity-focused laptop is powered by an Intel i5-12450H which is a mid-range octa-core processor released a few years ago. This is coupled with up to 16GB of DDR4 RAM and up to 512GB PCle 4.0 SSD. Unfortunately, there is no dedicated GPU here. All you get is Intel’s integrated Intel UHD GPU.
The laptop has a premium metal finish on top. Speaking of dimensions, it has a thickness of 19mm and weighs 1.68 kg (3.70lbs). Haier packs all the standard port options into the Y16 including two USB ports, one Type-C port with PD charging support, one HDMI port, one USB 3.0 port, an RJ45 ethernet port, one Kensington security slot, a Micro SD card slot, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Unlike some other laptops such as Infinix X Air Pro+, the Haier comes with a full-numeric keypad thanks to its large dimensions. Other features include an HD (720p/30fps) webcam with a dedicated privacy shutter, a 45Wh battery with 90W fast charging, a large touchpad, a premium metal finish design, and 2.4G/5G dual-band WiFi.
The most affordable SKU has an MSRP of just $436. Head over to the official Y16 product page for more information.
