Xiaomi 14 updates to Android 15 worldwide - with a catch
The Xiaomi 14 is one of the smallest Android smartphones with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC available on Amazon. Now, it is also one of the few devices with its specs and an upgrade to Android 15.
It is available to the European version of the 14 and to its global counterpart as the OS1.1.4.0.VNCEUXM and OS1.1.3.0.VNCMIXM firmware respectively.
Despite its major upgrade status, its changelog seems mostly dedicated to bug-fixes for various existing problems with elements of the 14's UI (its lockscreen, recent apps and homescreen included) left over from its last Experience Enhanced Beta.
Furthermore, it has been released as HyperOS 1.1 rather than the newer 2.0 skin that has been made official in China, with its user privacy-focused, smart home hub and "hardware-level" security enhancements.
Then again, the vanilla 14 is still on the list of HyperOS 2.0-eligible devices - and now, its users will at least be in no doubt that will be based on Android 15 when that major software update arrives.
