Xiaomi 14: New compact flagship finally arrives with major camera, display, chipset and OS upgrades
Xiaomi has now presented its first flagship powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. As expected, the device has arrived as the Xiaomi 14, with the Xiaomi 14 Pro to follow during the same launch event. Like last year, the Xiaomi 14 will serve as the company's compact flagship, which it equips with a 6.36-inch display.
While the Xiaomi 14 has the same display size as its predecessor, Xiaomi has introduced various display upgrades, including an LTPO backplane for 1-120 Hz variable refresh rates. Additionally, Xiaomi has bumped the display resolution to 1.5K, which results in a higher pixel density. Also, the Xiaomi 14 delivers 3,000 nits peak brightness, compared to 1,900 nits for the Xiaomi 13.

Moreover, Xiaomi has installed a new 50 MP primary camera, which features a 1/1.31-inch optical format and an f/1.6 Leica Summilux lens. Seemingly, the company has brought across the 75 mm telephoto camera from the Xiaomi 13 Pro, too. Meanwhile, the device's 50 MP ultra-wide-angle provides a 14 mm equivalent focal length. For reference, these cameras will interact with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3's image signal processor (ISP), which we have detailed in our Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 launch article.
