Xbox premiered a 28-minute “Partner Preview” featuring 3rd-party games from AAA as well as indie studios. Konami’s Metal Gear Solid 3 remake, the Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, and Studio Wildcard’s ARK: Survivor Ascended were among the games showcased. Both Unreal Engine 5 titles got trailers debuting impressive visuals and gameplay mechanics.

Xbox premiered an “Xbox Partner Preview” games showcase yesterday. The showcase had trailers for several upcoming games from Xbox’s 3rd-party partners, hence the name. Among the titles shown, two of the biggest were the hotly-anticipated Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater and ARK Survival Ascended.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater

The Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater remake called the “Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater” is a faithful recreation of the smash hit by Konami which debuted on the PS2 in 2004. The remake, which was first teased back in May at the PlayStation Showcase, is being developed in Unreal Engine 5 and will retell the story of the original game with modern visuals.

While the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake trailer didn’t reveal a ton of details, we got to see in-engine visuals that showcased some stealth gameplay against a dense jungle backdrop. As you’d expect from an Unreal Engine 5 title, the graphics look quite impressive and are, expectedly, ages ahead of the PS2-era visuals of the original Snake Eater.

Unfortunately, the release date is still under wraps.

ARK: Survival Ascended

ARK: Survival Ascended, an Unreal Engine 5 remake of ARK: Survival Evolved, also got a gameplay trailer at the Xbox Partner Preview. The trailer debuted updated visuals, gameplay mechanics like base building, and more.

Detailing the changes ARK: Survival Ascended (ASA) brings to the table on Xbox Wire, developers Studio Wildcard explained that the game is a ground-up remake of ARK: Survival Evolved using Unreal Engine 5 technologies like Lumen, Nanite, and Chaos physics to push visual fidelity to the next level. Studio Wildcard also announced that all the previous ARK DLCs and maps remade in UE5 will also come to ASA.

Additionally, ASA will support cross-platform modding across PC and consoles. The game also has a built-in CurseForge mode browser that the studio said will be filled with new structures, game modes, Dinos, etc.

Finally, folks looking to develop their own mods for ASA will be able to download the new Ark Devkit from the Epic launcher.

If you want to know more, Studio Wildcard detailed a ton of other things on the official Xbox Wire blog.

Aside from Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater and ARK: Survival Ascended, the Xbox Partner Preview also showed a plethora of other games including Alan Wake 2, Manor Lords, and Robocop: Rogue City, to name a few.
