OnePlus 12 breaks 18 DisplayMate records with new 2K BOE display

OnePlus has outlined various details about the display that will power its next flagship smartphone. As expected, the device in question will be the OnePlus 12, which will also rely upon Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Incidentally, the company has published similar details for the OnePlus Ace 3, which will likely appear under the OnePlus R series outside China.

According to OnePlus, the OnePlus 12 will launch with the 'world's best smartphone display'. Allegedly, the same panel could possibly be the brightest smartphone display as well; it has not provided any specifications to back up that claim yet, though. Based on earlier rumours, the OnePlus 12 could feature a 3,000-nit panel, a value that also appears destined for the Xiaomi 14.

Supposedly, DisplayMate has already awarded the OnePlus 12 various awards, with 18 records broken in total. It is worth noting that neither OnePlus nor DisplayMate has published any evidence yet, meaning that we can only go on the former's word for now. Instead, OnePlus boasts that the BOE-derived display has twice the lifespan of competing AMOLED panels and consumes 13% less power too. OnePlus has not revealed when it will showcase the OnePlus 12 yet, although we imagine that this will occur after tomorrow's launch of the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro.
