OnePlus has published fresh teaser images for the OnePlus 12, having recently confirmed a partnership with Sony to create a custom Lytia camera sensor. Based on previous rumours, the handset will feature the LYT-808, a 53 MP sensor that has a 1/1.43-inch optical format. While OnePlus continues to hint at this partnership, it has also outlined initial details about the device's telephoto camera.
As the company's promotional image implies, the sensor will be of the periscope variety. In comparison, the OnePlus 11 makes do with a simpler 32 MP telephoto camera that delivers just 2x optical zoom. Supposedly, the OnePlus 12 features a class-leading periscope telephoto lens, but OnePlus is holding back on specifics for now. If earlier leaks are correct, then this sensor will be the OmniVision OV64B, a 64 MP and 1/2-inch sensor that delivers 5x optical zoom.
Meanwhile, OnePlus has also shared a series of new sample photos, which we have embedded below. Unfortunately, these are comparatively low resolution. Thus, it is impossible to determine the camera improvements OnePlus has made between the OnePlus 11 and OnePlus 12 at this stage. Currently, OnePlus states that it will reveal more details about the device on November 9, although a full OnePlus 12 reveal is not expected until next month.
