Xiaomi Redmi 13C officially launches with POCO C65 specifications

Xiaomi has officially introduced the Redmi 13C, another entry-level smartphone that arrives a few days after it surfaced on Amazon. Incidentally, the Redmi 13C follows the POCO C65, which Xiaomi also launched earlier this week. Based on their specifications, it appears that the Redmi 13C is the Redmi counterpart to the POCO C65, with next to nothing separating the pair. 

Thus, the Redmi 13C utilises the same MediaTek Helio G85 chipset as the Redmi 12C, which currently sells on Amazon for US$93.99. Xiaomi has made a few changes in other areas though, notably with the former's new Clover Green, Glacier White, Navy Blue and Midnight Black colour options. Additionally, Xiaomi offers the Redmi 13C in three memory configurations, starting with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. Alternatively, the Redmi 13C will be available with 6 GB of RAM and the same amount of storage or 8 GB of RAM of the former and 256 GB of the latter.

Moreover, Xiaomi equips the Redmi 13C with a 6.74-inch display that resolves at 720p with a 90 Hz refresh rate. Nonetheless, the new handset is only marginally larger than its predecessor at 168 x 78 x 8.1 mm versus 168.8 x 76.4 x 8.8 mm. The Redmi 13C weighs 192 g too, matching the Redmi 12C. Furthermore, the Redmi 13C has a USB 2.0 Type-C port, which was missing from its predecessor and provides up to 18 W wired charging. Conversely, other areas like a 50 MP primary camera and a 5,000 mAh battery remain unchanged. While Xiaomi has not revealed pricing and availability yet, the leaked Amazon US listing suggests that the Redmi 13C will retail for less than US$150.
