Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus upgrades to End-to-End AI 200MP photography in latest OTA
The Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus strives to defy its ~2,000 yuan (~US$276) price-point by packing the same Samsung ISOCELL HP3 sensor with the same 200MP resolution as that of some much higher-end smartphones. Then again, its potential advantages can come with the potential drawback of increased lag when taking its ultra-high-res photos due to the increased load associated with processing them.
Then again, Samsung has recently addressed this issue by developing E2E AI Remosaic, a new way of completing the tasks involved in 200MP image processing simultaneously rather than in series as normal. Accordingly, the technology is rated to cut the time involved by up to 50%, thereby allowing for image capture that at least seems much faster.
Now, Xiaomi has implemented E2E AI Remosaic (along with its own imaging algorithm to boot) in the Redmi Note 13 Pro series. It is unlocked via a new software upgrade, the roll-out of which has begun starting with Pro Plus units distributed in the Chinese market from now and may, thus, be available by the time it becomes available globally as rumored.
