Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Note 13 Pro in China, its mid-tier offering between the Redmi Note 13 5G and Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus. The Redmi Note 13 Pro features some of the same hardware as its Pro Plus sibling but in a cheaper overall package that also houses Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset.

The Redmi Note 13 Pro has now debuted in China, with Xiaomi debuting the mid-range handset alongside the Redmi Note 13 and Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus. To recap, the Redmi Note 12 Pro and Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus were essentially the same device, save for different primary cameras and wired charging capabilities. This time, Xiaomi has distinguished the Redmi Note 13 Pro and Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus in more areas, including their design.

For example, the Redmi Note 13 Pro has a flat display and three rear-facing cameras contained within a large housing, unlike its Pro Plus sibling. The pair seemingly share identical display panels though, which measure 6.67-inches across with 2,712 x 1,220-pixel (1.5K) native resolutions, 120 Hz refresh rates and 100% DCI-P3 colour space coverage. Moreover, the Redmi Note 13 Pro's OLED panel delivers 1,800 nits peak brightness and 1,920 Hz PWM flickering.

Furthermore, Xiaomi equips the Redmi Note 13 Pro with a 5,100 mAh battery that supports 67 W wired charging, as well as Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset. Please see our Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 launch article for details about Qualcomm's latest mid-range offering. The Redmi Note 13 Pro appears to feature the same 200 MP primary, 8 MP ultra-wide-angle, 2 MP macro and 16 MP front-facing cameras as the Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus too, as well as an in-display fingerprint scanner but no IP rating.

Separately, the Redmi Note 13 Pro comes in Midnight Dark, Time Blue, Light Dream and Star Sand White colour options, which all measure 161.15 x 74.24 x 7.98 mm and weigh 187 g. The handset starts at CNY 1,399 (~US$192) in China with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, significantly undercutting the Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus. For reference, the Redmi Note 13 Pro is available at the following prices; it remains to be seen which configurations will make it outside China, though.

  • 8 GB of RAM/128 GB of storage - CNY 1,399 (~US$192)
  • 8 GB of RAM/256 GB of storage - CNY 1,499 (~US$206)
  • 12 GB of RAM/256 GB of storage - CNY 1,699 (~US$233)
  • 12 GB of RAM/512 GB of storage - CNY 1,899 (~US$261)
  • 16 GB of RAM/512 GB of storage - CNY 1,999 (~US$275)
