Honor has now launched the V Purse, the thinnest smartphone released to date. Specifically, the V Purse measures 156.5 x 135.6 x 4.3 mm when unfolded or 156.5 x 74.7 x 8.6 mm in its folded state. Also, Honor claims that the V Purse weighs 214 g, undercutting even the Magic V2.
Honor has made performance compromises though, with the Snapdragon 778G chosen to underpin proceedings. For reference, Qualcomm released the Snapdragon 778G over two years ago and has since moved onto mid-range SoCs like the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, which will debut inside the Redmi Note 13 Pro later this week. Additionally, Honor equips its latest foldable with 16 GB of RAM and a choice between 256 GB or 512 GB of storage.
Moreover, the handset has 50 MP primary, 12 MP ultra-wide-angle and 8 MP front-facing cameras. According to Honor's product page, the V Purse also has a 4,500 mAh battery that supports 35 W wired charging and a 7.71-inch OLED display with a 2,348 x 2,016-pixel native resolution and apparent 60 Hz refresh rate. Alternatively, the V Purse can be used in its 6.45-inch folded state, which drops the display resolution to 2,348 x 1,088 pixels.
The Honor V Purse ships with MagicOS 7.2 based on Android 13 and is available in Camellia Gold, Elegant Black and Glacier Blue colour options. While Honor showcased the V Purse in Europe earlier this month during IFA 2023, it has not commented on global availability. Instead, it has only opened pre-orders in China so far, where the V Purse starts at CNY 5,999 (~US$826) with 256 GB of storage.
