Rumor | Xiaomi Mix Flip is in the works as ultra-thin and light clamshell foldable smartphone
The "Mix Flip" has not been rendered any time recently, meaning that the most recent images purporting to show its appearance based on reports of Xiaomi clamshell smartphone patents out there, hinting at intentions to release a device with either a round triple rear camera hump or a cover display.
Accordingly, both kinds of material might benefit from an update, as a real-life 'flip phone' from Xiaomi would, of course, now face rivals with both features should it really launch in the near future. Indeed, it looks like that event might fall sooner rather than later, based on new alleged evidence recently uncovered by Digital Chat Station.
It apparently lists the Mix Flip on an IMEI database alongside the pre-existing Oppo Find N2 Flip and Huawei Nova 10 Pro, under the new model number 2311BPN23C. Its resemblance to other identifiers now linked to the Redmi Note 13 series might suggest that the Mix Flip has completed development in 2023, and may also even be destined to launch before the end of the same year.
Hopefully, it will match up to its flagship Mix Fold 3 sibling in terms of looks (and specs) in that case. It is already touted as an "ultra-thin, light and portable" proponent of its category already, with "screen performance" that "is not bad for taking pictures". Should Digital Chat Station prove accurate in those observations, it may be interesting to find out about the type of "screen" referred to in that last comment.
