GPD Win Mini released as new compact gaming handheld with AMD Ryzen 5 7640U or Ryzen 7 7840U APUs
GPD has finally started selling the Win Mini, over five months after the first signs of the gaming handheld appeared online. To recap, the company confirmed the Win Mini's release date last week, shortly after it revealed a top tier 64 GB of RAM and 2 TB SSD option. In summary, GPD has equipped the Win Mini with the following hardware inside a 168 x 109 x 26 mm case that weighs 520 g:
- 7-inch IPS display (1080p/120 Hz)
- AMD Phoenix APUs
- M.2 2230 SSD (PCIe 4.0)
- LPDDR5X RAM
- 44.24 Wh battery
The Win Mini still starts at US$699, despite GPD raising over US$600,000 within a few hours of the device's Indiegogo campaign going live. By default, the Win Mini ships with 16 GB of RAM, a 512 GB SSD and the Ryzen 5 7640U, a 6-core APU that also contains a Radeon 760M iGPU. For reference, the same configuration can be purchased with a comfort grip accessory for approximately US$728.
Alternatively, the Win Mini can be purchased with a Ryzen 7 7840U from US$869 with 32 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage or US$898 with the same grip accessory. Meanwhile, GPD sells the device with the same APU, 2 TB of storage and 32 GB or 64 GB of RAM for US$999 and US$1,149, respectively, plus a further US$29 for its official grip accessory. Currently, GPD hopes to begin shipping the Win Mini globally in November 2023; please see the company's Indiegogo campaign for more details.
