New Xiaomi foldables to take on the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 and OnePlus Open 2 globally this year
Xiaomi isn't expected to debut a Mix 5 smartphone this year but will diversify its portfolio with new devices instead. One of those will be a bezel-less smartphone, codenamed the "Suirenshi" with two under-display cameras, with the company also tipped to launch its first clamshell-style foldable.
Said clamshell-style foldable is expected to be branded as the Mix Flip, a direct rival to Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Z Flip6, and has already been certified in China. Apparently, though, Xiaomi could be set to bring the Mix Flip to the global market. As revealed by leaker Kartikey Singh, Xiaomi plans to launch its first foldable devices globally this year. That implies the potential global releases of the Mix Flip, and likely the Mix Fold 4.
Either way, not much is known about the Mix Flip or Mix Fold 4 but they can both be expected to offer premium hardware, including the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The source tips the upcoming foldables to debut in October, which should see them launch around the same period as the Google Pixel Fold 2 and OnePlus Open 2.
