There are conflicting rumours about Samsung launching an affordable Galaxy Z Fold device this year. South Korean news outlet The Bell has said the company isn't too thrilled about it because it supposedly damages their "premium image". If it does see the light of day, it'll happen sometime in Q4, 2024. The report adds Samsung could launch them earlier than the usual August schedule.
Samsung supposedly plans to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6 a few weeks earlier than last year's Galaxy Z Fold series, putting its tentative launch date sometime in mid-July. Additionally, Samsung will pivot from its usual choice of venues and launch the devices in Paris. Like their predecessors, all models will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy SoC, which isn't surprising given Qualcomm all but confirmed it earlier.
Among other things, the Galaxy Z Fold6 is said to come with the Galaxy S24 Ultra's ($1,300 on Amazon) 200 MP camera sensor as confirmed by recent renders. On the other hand, the Galaxy Z Flip6 is slated to come with a larger battery and cover display. Those looking forward to Samsung's tri-folding tablet will have to wait for the next release cycle.
