Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 rumoured to be launching with Galaxy S24 Ultra inspired design tweaks
@OnLeaks and SmartPrix have had a busy February, with the pair revealing Google Pixel Fold 2 and Nothing Phone (2a) CAD-based renders this month alone. Now, the pair have provided what they believe is a first look at the Galaxy Z Fold6, which could be one of three foldable smartphones that Samsung releases later this year. In short, the Galaxy Z Fold6 shown by the more reliable @OnLeaks looks nothing like Samsung's recently patented design that caused rumours of a full redesign occurring.
Instead, the sixth-generation appears to be another exercise in tweaking around the edges of the Galaxy Z Fold's form factor. In the last few years, Samsung has made each Galaxy Z Fold handset slightly shorter and slimmer than the last. Additionally, the Galaxy Z Fold5 is also the first in the series that particularly minimises the hinge gap of its predecessors. By contrast, the Galaxy Z Fold6 is said to be just as thick as the Galaxy Z Fold5 at 6.1 mm.

Moreover, @OnLeaks and SmartPrix allege that the former measures 153.5 x 132.5 mm when unfolded. Unfortunately, the pair have not shared the device's width in its folded state though, which has not scaled linearly on other Galaxy Z Fold models. Thus, it is unclear how wide the new Galaxy Z Fold will be when closed, although it can be inferred that it will remain 13.4 mm thick.
Either way, these dimensions would make the Galaxy Z Fold6 just 1.4 mm shorter and 2.6 mm wider than its predecessor. As a result, the next Galaxy Z Fold will still be much narrower than its competitors, including current options like the Honor Magic V2 and OnePlus Open. Supposedly, these minor dimension changes will be joined by a squarer chassis, thereby bringing the Galaxy Z Fold series closer to the aesthetics of the Galaxy S24 Ultra (curr. $1,299.99 on Amazon).
