Intel has published a round of driver updates for its Intel Arc A dGPU and Intel Arc iGPU solutions. Arriving as the Intel Graphics Driver 31.0.101.5333, the updates promise up to 155% performance gains for a raft of modern DirectX 11 games.

Intel is now offering a new graphics driver for Arc and Iris Xe GPUs, which it is distributing as Intel Graphics Driver 31.0.101.5333. Like its equivalent from late last year, Intel Graphics Driver 31.0.101.5333 focuses on improving gaming performance across specific titles. Primarily though, FPS gains will be noticeable on 'Core Ultra with built-in Intel Arc GPUs', further limiting the applicability of Intel Graphics Driver 31.0.101.5333.

Thus, the new graphics driver most applies to Core Ultra-H processors like the Core Ultra 5 125H or Core Ultra 7 155H, which feature 7-core and 8-core Arc iGPUs, respectively. According to Intel's changelog, Intel Graphics Driver 31.0.101.5333 should bring performance improvements to the following games set to a 1080p resolution and Medium graphics settings:

  • Assassin's Creed Syndicate: 65%
  • Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare: 17%
  • Divinity Original Sin 2: 25%
  • Far Cry 5: 8%
  • Halo: The Master Chief Collection: 19%
  • It Takes Two: 24%
  • Just Cause 3: 18%
  • Just Cause 4: 155%
  • Palworld: 14%
  • Rise of the Tomb Raider: 9%
  • Rust: 9%
  • SCUM: 6%
  • Sid Meier's Civilization VI: 27%
  • Snowrunner: 27%
  • Warframe: 7%
  • X-COM 2: 8%

Please note that all these percentage increases are 'up to', meaning that they may be less in some instances. Additionally, the games listed above are DirectX 11 titles; Arc iGPUs tend to mirror their dedicated counterparts in having fewer initial issues when running DirectX 12 games. With that being said, Intel Graphics Driver 31.0.101.5333 also adds official support for Last Epoch and Sea of Thieves on DirectX 12 for Arc A series dGPU and Arc iGPU parts. Please see Intel's support page for more details and download links.
