Samsung fans, as well as foldable enthusiasts eagerly anticipate the release of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 which is expected to launch in the second half of this year. Recent leaks have provided insight into the device's specifications and design, offering a glimpse into what potential buyers can expect.
Disappointingly, leaked information reveals that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will not feature an S Pen slot, similar to its predecessor. Aligning with previous rumors, the device is expected to sport a slightly wider profile compared to its forerunner, with sharp edges matching that of the Galaxy S24 Ultra. Powering the device will be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, accompanied by a 4,600 mAh battery — a modest upgrade from the Fold 5's 4,400 mAh capacity. The device's claimed lightweight construction can be credited to its rumored titanium build, a trend that has followed ever since Apple came out with the titanium iPhone 15 Pro last year.
While the leak claims the inclusion of 3 cameras, details regarding their specifications have not been shared. A previous rumor from Tech_Reve suggested a significant camera upgrade, potentially adopting the S24's camera module. However, given Samsung's pattern of retaining similar camera modules across at least 3 generations of the Fold line, the likelihood of a significant camera upgrade in the Galaxy Z Fold 6 appear to be slim, with it possibly featuring the same 50 MP module found in the Z Fold 5. This is all just mere speculation at this point, as it's far too early to say anything for certain.
Moreover, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is expected to be measurably thinner, coming in at just 11 mm when folded — a notable reduction from its predecessor's thickness of 13.4 mm. Despite this sizeable improvement, the Honor Magic V2 will continue to retain the title of the thinnest foldable device at an impressive 9.9 mm. The source also suggests that the device will come in 3 colors, although specific colors have not been mentioned.
