The SWAN Folding Electric Scooter from Shif Mobility was recently released and is currently available to purchase in Europe. The new model has an unusual folding mechanism for the aluminum frame, which, with the back tire lifting towards the handlebars, allows you to easily transport the scooter using the front wheel and two small wheels fixed to the baseboard.
Another notable feature of the SWAN e-scooter is its 16-inch wheels, providing greater stability when riding. Despite the larger tires, the model is still relatively light at 14.5 kg (~32.0 lbs). Aside from this, the e-scooter has a basic feature set; for example, it is powered by a 250W motor with 400W peak power and 36Nm torque. A 10 Ah quick-release battery allows you to travel up to 35 km (~22 miles) on a single charge, fully recharging in three to five hours. Also included are hydraulic disc brakes, front and rear lights, and an integrated display showing your distance travelled and remaining battery level.
It is worth noting that the e-scooter lacks any form of suspension. You can choose between three base colors, black, dark grey and white, each featuring light blue design accents. The SWAN Folding Electric Scooter retails in Europe for €2,149, making it a more expensive model. Whether the company plans to launch the model in other regions like North America has yet to be announced.
