ENGWE teases dual-motor, long-range scooter as upcoming pilot project
ENGWE might be best known for its e-bikes - however, it now seems to want to become as much of an e-scooter brand as well. It is currently crowd-sourcing feedback on what it might want to pack into its upcoming electric vehicle.
These plans seem to involve the creation of a scooter that stands out with 2 motors rather than 1 as usual, which may or may not be able to help the user handle off-road excursions once the daily urban commute is done.
ENGWE also hints at a particularly large up to 60V 20.8Ah battery, which might confer an estimated range of up to 75 kilometers (km, or ~47 miles) on the vehicle. It might also be capable of going at up to 50km per hour (km/h, or 31 mph), although that might not be viable in some jurisdictions.
To that end, the OEM is also asking fans if they find the 'extreme' wide-deck look of scooters like this one on Geekbuying acceptable, particularly as it is also pitching full suspension for its upcoming e-bike alternative. It might also boast a large display, a wireless unlocking function and 28 newton-meters (Nm) of torque to climb inclines of up to 20°.
Accordingly, a launch or release date for this next-gen ENGWE scooter might be some distance away; in the meantime, the brand also hints that it might charge anything from $699 to $1,399 for its early-stage e-vehicle - although that price might be also subject to the results of its ongoing survey.
