The increasingly popular e-bike brand ENGWE has announced that one of its next products will help the user electrify movement for more than just themselves. The bike is touted as a cost-effective alternative to commuting with a sizeable load capacity.
The bike in ENGWE's latest teaser looks like some of its existing models (such as the EP-2 Pro that can be found on Amazon for $849 at the time of writing) from the front - however, the other half might be designed differently.
It seems it will be of the longtail type of cargo e-bike, which typically tows an enlarged carrying crate over or behind its rear wheel. They are often backed to carry goods, luggage, groceries or even small children as an alternative to using a car to do the same.
ENGWE hints that its upcoming take on the category will have the fat tires of some of its existing bikes. It also points out that using a cargo e-bike can act as a source of light exercise to the user while potentially reducing their transport costs (and emissions).
However, the brand has yet to specify a launch date for its inaugural cargo e-bike.

I became a professional writer and editor shortly after graduation. My degrees are in biomedical sciences; however, they led to some experience in the biotech area, which convinced me of its potential to revolutionize our health, environment and lives in general. This developed into an all-consuming interest in more aspects of tech over time: I can never write enough on the latest electronics, gadgets and innovations. My other interests include imaging, astronomy, and streaming all the things. Oh, and coffee.
