Huawei has now confirmed that the Mate XT will debut as the world's first tri-folding smartphone in September 2024. It is also now set to integrate design cues from the OEM's other top-end mobile devices. In addition, the XT's latest trailer may or may not drop hints as to another brand-first smart health product.

Huawei's latest cinematic trailer is much more forthcoming about the impending Mate XT and its status as an inaugural tri-folding smartphone. Its elongated, double-hinged form-factor is artfully teased in the new clip, as is its rear panel.

The latter also yields a glimpse of the XT's rear panel, revealing that it is highly reminiscent of the Mate 60 RS in that regard, right down to the octagonal camera hump. That detail, combined with the rest of the trailer, suggests that the world's first tri-folding smartphone is also intended to be a camera-first smartphone.

Interestingly, there is something else visible in the Mate XT's initial product showcase: a ring, with, furthermore, something that looks suspiciously like a charging cradle just out of shot. Accordingly, it is possible that Huawei might also be gearing up to unveil its first ever smart ring in the near future.
