Huawei Mate XT backed to unleash Ultimate Design on world in cryptic new teaser
Huawei's new clip mostly consists of a model or actor in the process of arriving on a set and turning some underlit appliances on (seemingly in a bid for those classic NVIDIA product event vibes) then gazing off into the sunset.
Accordingly, it is not exactly the video version of CEO Richard Yu's recent photos with a wholly new kind of smartphone in hand that some fans might hope for.
Then again, there are some small clues in the cinematic trailer as to the XT's possible design, mostly in the form of stylized numerical subtitles toward the end that may or may not represent the device's "Ultimate Design": its ability to triple-fold as well as double-fold and unfold completely flat.
Noted leaker Digital Chat Station backs hardware capable of such new modes to steal the hearts and minds of mobile tech enthusiasts away from more 'conventional' foldable smartphones.
Then again, the handful of other major OEMs (Xiaomi, OPPO and possibly Tecno) thought to be in the process of developing tri-fold technology will not be able to challenge Huawei's new-found cachet until 2026 at the earliest, according to the same leaker.
