RedMagic has launched an interesting Android tablet that features what the brand calls a “naked-eye 3D” display. It lets you view 3D images without needing any glasses.

The RedMagic Tablet 3D Explorer Edition has launched alongside the Gaming Tablet Pro. However, while the latter is more for gamers, the former is geared more for entertainment. The new Android tablet has what the company calls a "naked-eye 3D" display, which lets you view 3D images without needing any 3D glasses.

RedMagic has integrated dual 3D cameras on the front and AI eye-tracking technology to achieve this. Paired with a "micron-level liquid crystal lens," the eye-tracking setup can track at 90 Hz frequency. These are topped off with the Magic Vision engine and a dedicated feature to convert 2D images to 3D.

As for the display, the RedMagic Tablet 3D Explorer Edition has a 12.1-inch screen with 2560x1600 pixels resolution, 144 Hz refresh rate, and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut. These display specs should further enhance the 2D and 3D viewing experience on the Android tablet.

Besides the dual 3D cameras on the front, the tablet sports 3D cameras on the back. They support real-time HDR shooting, capture 3D videos and pictures, and can output in SBS format, which is the mainstream format for 3D content.

When it comes to the internals, the RedMagic Tablet 3D Explorer Edition is equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, the last-gen flagship SoC from Qualcomm. It also has a 10,000 mAh battery that supports 66W fast charging. Other highlights include a quad-speaker setup, 5G connectivity, a full-function USB-C port, and dual x-axis linear motors.

Pricing-wise, the base variant of the Android tablet has a launch price of CNY 6,499 (around $916), while the configuration with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of UFS 4.0 storage costs CNY 7,299 (about $1,028). RedMagic has yet to share details about global availability and pricing, but it does launch almost all of its products in the global market (12/256 GB 9S Pro curr. $749 on Amazon).
