ENGWE has unleashed a second generation of its most "moped-like" e-bike rated to get up to ~80 miles of range out of even its single-battery version. The M20 2.0 is also rated for improved peak motor power and safety compared to its forebear. It is up for pre-order from now with up to $250 off its RRP for early-bird buyers.

ENGWE has now released the 2.0 version of its M20 to pre-order. The e-bike has the SUPER73-like build of its forebear, albeit with a top speed of 28 miles per hour (mph). Then again, its innovative dual bay system now holds new batteries with a capacity of 15.6Ah or 1,622Wh apiece, as opposed to 13Ah or 1,248Wh in its v1.0 forebear.

Accordingly, the OEM estimates that even the single-battery version of the M20 2.0 has a range of ~81 miles - albeit in its pedal-assist mode 1 (PAS 1), slated to fall to 63 miles in full-throttle mode. Nevertheless, ENGWE touts the dual-battery SKU as an up to 162-mile e-bike.

The M20 2.0 still has a 750W motor - however, the OEM asserts that its power system upgrade from 48V to 52V confers a new, increased peak rating of 1,200W (compared to 1,000W in the v1.0). In addition, the new model's 6061 aluminum alloy frame is available in blue, as opposed to green, black or white in the first generation.

On that note, the ENGWE M20 2.0 has been unleashed at $1,299 with 1 battery, or $1,499 for the 31.2Ah dual-battery top-end model. However, an early adopter can get a $200 discount off that price for now, with the possibility of a further $50 off with a code obtained by signing up to ENGWE's email list.

Then again, the first-gen M20 now goes for just $799 to $999 on Amazon.
