Engwe announces Engine Pro 2.0 folding e-bike with 1,200W peak power
The Engwe Engine Pro 2.0 folding electric bike has been launched. Designed for off-road adventures, the model has a full suspension system and 20 x 4-inch fat tires to make your ride more comfortable. Engwe claims that the model folds in three steps, taking ten seconds to complete, making it easier to transport.
The Engine Pro 2.0 is powered by a 750W hub motor with 1,200W peak power and up to 75Nm torque. The US model has a top assistance speed of 28 mph (~45 kph) or 20 mph (~32 kph) when using the throttle. The EU version lacks the throttle and is limited to a 25 kph (~16 mph) assistance speed to comply with local regulations. Both bicycles feature a torque sensor, ensuring the engine’s output is matched to your pedalling power. Plus, a lithium-ion battery allows you to ride with assistance for up to 68 miles (~110 km) or 40 miles (~50 km) using the throttle alone; the power pack fully recharges in around 6.5 hours.
The 8-speed bike has a Shimano Altus rear derailleur, an LCD showing information like your speed and remaining battery, and hydraulic disc brakes. The 6061 aluminum alloy frame is available in three colors: Space Black, Midnight Blue and Mountain Green. On average, the bike weighs 31.6 kg (~69.6 lbs). You can buy the Engwe Engine Pro 2.0 folding e-bike for the discounted price of $1,299/€1,399, a $100/€100 reduction on the $1,399/€1,499 RRP. Customers in the UK can pre-order the new model for £1,299, saving £200 on the future retail price of £1,499; here, the product is expected to ship in mid-April.
