The ADO Air Carbon folding e-bike is now crowdfunding on Indiegogo. The electric bicycle was teased in April when the campaign was first announced. With 31 days remaining, the Indiegogo campaign has raised over HK$1.34 million (~$171,800) from 87 backers, easily surpassing its HK$100,000 (~$12,800) target.
You can make an Early Bird pledge of HK$15,140 (~$1,940/€1799) for the ADO Air Carbon e-bike. According to the company, this is a 40% discount on the HK$25,236 (~$3,230/€2,999) RRP. Customers are invited to choose between two colors: Iceland Black and Amble Latte. ADO E-bike is set to deliver the model to many countries, including the US, the UK, Australia, Canada, the Netherlands and France, with shipping estimated for June 2024. It is worth noting that, as with any crowdfunding campaign, there is no guarantee that the project will run to schedule or that you will receive the product. However, ADO E-bike is an established brand, and Indiegogo indicates that the e-bike is already in production.
The Air Carbon is said to fold in 15 seconds, with the carbon fiber frame making the bike lighter at 12.5 kg (~27.6 lbs) and even easier to transport. The e-bike uses a 250W Bafang motor with a 36V 9.6Ah battery for up to 100km (~60 miles) assistance range. You can view the remaining battery and your speed on the handle-bar mounted IPS color display, and a Smart Connect module allows GPS tracking on your phone in case of theft. Other features include hydraulic disc brakes, puncture-proof tires, a headlight and a taillight. It is unclear when ADO E-bike expects to sell the Air Carbon e-bike more widely.
