Decathlon launches new RR900e hardtail e-bike with Bosch motor
Decathlon has launched a new e-bike, the RR900e Bosch Performance CX, in Europe. The model is on sale in Germany, though only a partial specification has been shared on the company’s website. As its name suggests, the sporty hardtail model is powered by a Bosch motor, mounted in the middle of the frame, with 250W power and up to 85Nm torque.
The RR900e has a 625Wh Bosch PowerTube battery which, according to Decathlon, can provide up to 100km (~60 miles) assistance range. Features to make your ride more comfortable include a RockShox suspension fork with 100mm travel and 29-inch Schwalbe Nobby Nic tires. The 12-speed e-bike also has a Shimano XT M8120 rear derailleur and Shimano Deore hydraulic disc brakes. A Bosch display shows your speed, assistance level and remaining battery level percentage. Plus, further information about your journey can be found in the Bosch Smart Ebike App when you connect your phone via Bluetooth.
The bike has an aluminum frame available in three sizes from M to XL, each with a matt black finish; the size M model weighs 24.6 kg (~54.2 lbs), excluding pedals. The Decathlon RR900e Bosch Performance CX is currently available in Germany, where it retails for €3,499. Whether the company plans to roll out the model to other markets is unclear.
