Decathlon announces new B’TWIN E-Fold 900 folding e-bike
The Decathlon B’TWIN E-Fold 900 electric bike has been announced for the European market. The folding mechanism makes the e-bike easier to transport; the model measures 82 x 73 x 56 cm (~32.2 x 28.7 x 22.0 inches) when folded. Plus, a patented hinge locking for a more straightforward unfolding experience, which Decathlon claims takes just one second.
The E-Fold 900 has a Vision Industry brushless motor at the rear, providing three assistance modes and a separate walk mode. The motor has 250W power and up to 35Nm torque, with a cadence sensor ensuring the assistance matches your needs. A 252Wh battery, stored in the seat post, is expected to provide up to 55 km (~34 miles) assisted range. Plus, the 7-speed e-bike uses a Shimano Tourney drivetrain alongside Tektro T275 hydraulic disc brakes and 20” Schwalbe Big Apple tires. Accessories include a small handlebar-mounted display showing your speed and remaining battery, alongside front and rear lights. Optional extras include a luggage rack and a 25L bicycle bag.
The e-bike has a 6061 aluminum frame and fork, with the model weighing 18.9 kg (~41.7 lbs). The Decathlon B’TWIN E-Fold 900 e-bike will launch in mid-May. While EU pricing has yet to be revealed, a product listing in the UK indicates that the model will retail for £1,499.99 (~€1,750).
