DJI has quietly confirmed details about the Mini 4K, its second consumer drone release of the year after the Avata 2. Not only has DJI confirmed the launch date of the Mini 4K, but it has already revealed what the forthcoming drone looks like.

DJI has only just released a new drone, the Avata 2, its first FPV release in over two years. However, it turns out that it is preparing to launch another drone, and one that does not require the use of a headset to operate. In the last 24 hours or so, various sources have published an apparent image of the 'Mini 4K', albeit without providing any evidence to verify their claims.

As far as we can tell, the images shared by the likes of @Quadro_News originate from DJI's Amazon storefront, which remains viewable in multiple languages at the time of publication. Although the image does not confirm any device specifications, a few details about the Mini 4K can be inferred. For example, the Mini 4K has a less advanced stabilisation system than the Mini 4 Pro (curr. $959 on Amazon).

Additionally, it appears to lack some of the hardware that its sibling uses for omnidirectional obstacle sensing. Meanwhile, DJI Support publicly confirmed the existence of the Mini 4K before its Amazon reveal. Responding to @Quadro_News, the support account stated that:

The DJI Mini 4K that appears on the page is a new drone that will be launched soon.

Based on the image below, DJI intends to announce the Mini 4K on April 29 at 13:00 UTC. Based on recent DJI releases, this time could be when Mini 4K pre-orders go live too, as was the case earlier this month with the Avata 2. While DJI has not teased the release of the Mini 4K through its usual channels yet, we imagine it will do so later this week.
