DJI announces new Ready to Roll launch event for rumoured Avata 2 FPV drone
DJI has now confirmed the launch date for its next drone after a spate of leaks. Incidentally, @OsitaLV beat DJI to the punch by revealing the Avata 2's launch date as April 11, which the company duly confirmed. On top of that, the Twitter account leaked a short hands-on clip with the Avata 2, which we have embedded below.
As always, DJI does not name its impending drone on its social media accounts of its new microsite. Instead, the company has outlined that it will debut a new device during a 'Ready to Roll' launch event scheduled to begin at 13:00 UTC on April 11. Nonetheless, the product pictured matches the design of the Avata 2 that has turned up numerous times in the last few weeks.
Thus, the drone has a single camera, four sets of propellers encased within large propeller guards. While all of that applies to the original Avata, the Avata 2 appears to be much thinner but wider than its predecessor. Moreover, DJI is expected to unveil more than just the Avata 2. Based on recent leaks, the company has also developed the Goggles 3, RC Motion Control 3 and Remote Control 3, many of which will be orderable alongside the Avata 2 as part of a Fly More Combo. Unfortunately, launch pricing and full Avata 2 device specifications remain unknown for now.
See you in April 11st. pic.twitter.com/pIwReBP0Ot
