DJI rumoured to be announcing new drone early next month
Fresh leaks have shed more light on the state of the Avata 2, a first-person view (FPV) drone that is expected to be DJI's next product release. To recap, the drone and its accompanying headset have already been certified for sale in the US by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Additionally, presumed prototype units had been photographed, albeit not in use.
Now, retail packaging has leaked online courtesy of several sources. As the screenshot below shows, the Avata 2 will be available with a 'Fly More Combo', just like other DJI drones. Seemingly, this accessory pack will ship not only with the Goggles 3 but also with an RC Motion 3 remote control. Unfortunately, the leaked packaging does not reveal any technical specifications.
Nonetheless, the presence of two cameras on the front of the Goggles 3 suggests that DJI could have implemented some sort of pass-through technology. Moreover, the Avata 2 looks considerably thinner than the current Avata (curr. $559 on Amazon). Short hands-on videos underline that the Avata 2 will be thinner than its predecessor while not compromising on its form factor or feature set. Likewise, the Goggles 3 will arrive with an updated design. Currently, the likes of @DealsDrone speculate that the Avata 2 and its accessories will debut early next month. A precise release date remains unknown for now though, as does launch pricing.
