DJI Avata 2: Retailer reveals full official launch pricing and specifications for DJI Avata successor
Earlier this week, DJI appeared to confirm the release of an Avata first-person-view (FPV) drone, which will occur on April 11. For reference, the arrival of the Avata 2 will preceded by the introduction of new camera gimbals, which are expected to debut on April 9 as the RS 4 and RS 4 Pro. Subsequently, several sources shared pricing and specifications for the Avata 2, likely from a leaked retailer listing.
As we discussed at the time, others shared pricing details too and claimed that the Avata 2 could start at about $410. However, this was converted from Chinese pricing, which rarely directly converts into other currencies. To that end, Abt Electronics has now confirmed the pricing of not only the Avata 2 but also two versions of the Avata 2 Fly More Combo by listing all three on its website. As the screenshots below show, the Avata 2 will be available for $489, a $140 and 22% drop from the Avata's MSRP of $629 (curr. $534.95 on Amazon).
Likewise, the Avata 2 Fly More Combo will start at $999 with one battery and will rise to $1,199 for a three-battery variant. The latter adds a carry case too, although both feature DJI's new Goggles 3 and RC Motion 3 accessories. On top of that, all three provide full Avata 2 specifications, which we have reproduced below. In short, the Avata 2 will ship with the following hardware and capabilities:
- 12 MP camera with 1/1.3-inch optical format and 155° ultra-wide-angle FoV
- 4K/60 FPS videos with HDR enabled
- 10-bit D-Log M support
- 23-minute flight times
- DJI O4 video transmission support (13 km range, 24 ms latency, 1080p/100 FPS image quality with 60 Mbps bitrate)
- 46 GB storage (90 minutes of 1080p/60fps video)
