DJI Mini 4K: Marketing materials revealed before new 4K drone release with specifications and launch pricing detailed
DJI is set to release a new compact drone early next week, full details of which we have covered separately. As usual, the likes of @Quadro_News have got ahead of DJI by leaking various things about the Mini 4K, including its price. Based on the images below, it seems that the Mini 4K is essentially an upgraded Mini 2 SE with an upgraded camera sensor.
Specifically, the Mini 4K is said to contain a 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensor that can capture footage at up to 4K and 30 FPS. Moreover, DJI will complement the new sensor with a 3-axis gimbal, as well as electronic image stabilisation (EIS). DJI will reserve certain technologies for the more expensive Mini 4 Pro (curr. $959 on Amazon) though, such as true vertical shooting and its DJI O4 transmission hardware. Instead, the Mini 4K will ship with the lesser DJI O2, which peaks at a 10 km transmission distance with 720p/30 FPS image quality.
Also, the Mini 4K only matches the Mini 2 SE with 31-minute flight times, as the comparison image below shows. Allegedly, the Mini 4K is rumoured to retail for $348 with an RC-N1C remote controller and an Intelligent Flight Battery included. Thus, while the Mini 4K may be considerably cheaper than the Mini 4 Pro, it could cost roughly $70 more than the Mini 2 SE (curr. $279 on Amazon). DJI will release the Mini 4K on April 29 at 13:00 UTC.
