DJI has now started selling the Mic 2, a second-generation model that is available in Shadow Black and Pearl White finishes. As detailed pre-release leaks suggested, the DJI Mic 2 features various improvements over its predecessor, not least a larger 1.1-inch display and a rotary control dial for adjusting volume levels. Thankfully, the new model carries over the same connection standards, with DJI including 3.5 mm, Lightning and USB Type-C adapters in the box.
Additionally, the DJI Mic 2 supports Bluetooth connectivity, which the DJI Mic lacked. Moreover, the former integrates intelligent noise cancellation that can attenuate background noise. On top of that, the DJI Mic 2 will send a second signal at -6 dB to prevent audio clipping in loud environments. Furthermore, the new microphone and receiver combination can store up to 14 hours of 24-bit and 48 kHz audio.
The DJI Mic 2 is already orderable in multiple markets, including the Eurozone, UK and the US where it retails for €349, £309 and $349, respectively, with two transmitters, a receiver and a charging case. Alternatively, DJI sells a transmitter and receiver for $219, while the transmitters themselves retail for $99 each. Please note that the Mic 2 is also available for $69 when purchased separately.
