Shiftall has announced three virtual reality products at CES 2024 - the MeganeX superlight, a 5.2K OLED VR headset, the HaritoraX Wireless R 6-point body tracker, and the mutalk 2 soundproof communications mask that prevents voice leakage.

Shiftall has announced three products to better enjoy virtual reality - the MeganeX superlight VR headset, the HaritoraX Wireless R body tracker, and the mutalk 2 communications mask.

The MeganeX is a dual 120 Hz OLED VR headset with 2560x2560 resolution per eye. The 7 ounce (200 gram) headset achieves weight reduction versus other headsets by using plastic lenses and omitting speakers and inside-out cameras. Head tracking is provided by a SteamVR Base Station, and the SteamVR-compatible headset connects to a computer over DisplayPort and USB 2.0.

The HaritoraX Wireless R is a lightweight body tracker that uses accelerometer, gyroscope, and magnetometer sensors to measure the motion of the body part it is attached to. With 6 trackers attached to the chest, hip, knees, and ankles, users can control virtual avatars by moving their own bodies. The system is compatible with SteamVR headsets. A dedicated USB camera monitoring the scene can automatically correct for sensor drift that occurs naturally through use. The trackers connect to a dedicated Bluetooth communications dongle. The trackers run up to 20 hours.

The mutalk 2 is a wireless microphone inside a soundproof mask. This communications mask reduces a user's voice by up to 20 dB to help prevent annoying others nearby with virtual conversations and singing. The device automatically activates when worn and can be used with smartphones for silenced conversations. The new model improves upon the venting of moisture and the sound quality of the prior mutalk. The mutalk 2 can work over Bluetooth and higher sound quality USB-C dongle and wired 3.5mm connections. A rechargeable battery powers it for up to 10 hours.

Availability of the tracker and headset have yet to be determined while the mutalk 2 is expect to ship May 2024. In the meantime, VIVE users can enjoy body tracking using a set of trackers (like this at Amazon).

HaritoraX Wireless R

Full body tracking device for the Metaverse

The HaritoraX Wireless R is a new fully wireless full body tracking that adopts a hybrid approach with next-generation sensors, automatically correcting errors (drift) through optical recognition by dedicated cameras. It maintains the IMU method's benefits of being lightweight, having long battery life, and not being affected by obstructions, while also achieving the drift-free accuracy characteristic of optical systems. Like the conventional HaritoraX series, this device can be used in the same manner. However, when you connect the optional dedicated camera to a PC, it automatically corrects any accumulated drift or distortion the moment the sensors come into the camera's view. This means that for uses where you occasionally face the camera, the regular calibration operations essential for IMU systems become unnecessary.

Battery Life: IMU method: Approx. 20 hours, IMU+Optical method: TBD

Tracking points: 6-point tracking (Chest, Hip, Both knees, Both ankles)
*Expandable with additional units

Sensor (IMU): Accelerometer/Gyroscope/Magnetometer sensor (9-axis IMU)

Dedicated camera: Connect to PC via USB

Wireless communication: Bluetooth, Dedicated communication dongle

Supported VR headsets: Various headsets compatible with SteamVR
*Not guaranteed to work with all headsets.

mutalk 2

Wireless soundproof microphone

mutalk 2 is a new model of the wireless soundproof microphone that prevents voice leakage and ambient noise. This is an optimal device for use in remote meetings, the Metaverse, and online gaming.

In addition to high-quality, low-latency wireless connectivity through a dedicated communication dongle, it also supports Bluetooth and wired connections (USB Audio). While retaining its external appearance, both the microphone and communication chips have been completely revamped. Changes have been made to the mic-holding mechanism to minimize sound quality degradation during extended use. Moreover, it comes with a new structure of mouth pad that prevents nasal-sounding voice, in addition to the standard mouth pad.

Battery Life: Approx. 10 hours

Charging method: USB Type-C

Charging time: Approx. 2 hours
