DJI FlyCart 30 debuts as world's latest delivery drone
The DJI FlyCart 30 drone has just been unleashed on the global market. It employs a multi-rotor, coaxial 4-axis design and 8 blades for carbon-fiber propellers to carry loads at up to 20 meters (m) per second at an altitude of up to 3,000m in winds of up to 12m per second.
The FC30 is rated to do so for up to ~9.94 miles (16 kilometers (km)) with a payload of up to ~66lb (30kg) in its dual-battery mode - or to carry up to ~88lb (40kg) over ~4.97 miles (8km) in an emergency single-battery mode. It is estimated to stay connected with its operator (who can use the OEM's Pilot 2 app for mobile flight, or DeliveryHub for more automation) from up to ~12 miles (20m) away using DJI O3 transmission technology.
The FlyCart 30 can fly in Cargo or Winch modes, by which it carries either a 70 liter (l) case or an auto-retracting 20m cable respectively, and is equipped with sensors for things such as its center of gravity or payload swing to smartly adjust its flight path or altitude as appropriate to maximize safety. FC30 operators can also use AR Projection to make sure the drone or its goods touch down in the right spot.
Accordingly, DJI is "confident" that its new FlyCart 30 will become as familiar among offshore/mountain transport and even emergency response professionals as the Mini 4 Pro is among enthusiasts soon.
