DJI Inspire 3: New drone debuts with 94 km/h top speed, 8K video chops and a full-frame camera
DJI has introduced the Inspire 3, replacing the near 7-year-old Inspire 2. As expected, the Inspire 3 relies on a Zenmuse X9 camera, which DJI describes as the X9-8K Air. According to DJI, the sensor can shoot photos in up to 44 MP and videos at 8K and 75 FPS. Additionally, DJI sells 18 mm, 24 mm, 35 mm and 50 mm lenses with the Inspire 3 for capturing footage at various focal lengths.
Moreover, the Inspire 3 has a night vision FPV camera based around a 1/1.8-inch sensor that delivers a 161° FoV. DJI adds that this camera can also record videos in 4K or live stream footage in 1080p to a compatible pair of glasses or a remote control. For reference, DJI bundles the Inspire 3 with an RC Plus remote control, which has a 7-inch and 1,200-nit display, as well as 15 km of range and 3:30 hours of battery life. Furthermore, DJI includes a replaceable 1 TB SSD module with Inspire 3 orders, which it sells separately for US$799.
Elsewhere, the Inspire 3 can fly up to 94 km/h in ideal conditions and can withstand wind speeds up to 14 m/s. Also, DJI claims that the drone can ascend or descend at up to 8 m/s while delivering up to 28-minute flight times. DJI has priced the Inspire 3 at US$16,499 and is already accepting pre-orders. The Inspire 3 will not start shipping until June 2023, though. Please see DJI's website for more details.
