Roland Quandt has lifted the lid on the DJI Air 3, a day or so after hands-on photos surfaced online. As usual, Quandt has not only provided official images of the unreleased drone, but also specifications and pricing. Full details have not leaked yet, but the photos that have emerged so far confirm that the Air 3 will launch with two cameras, up from one in the Air 2 and Air 2S.
Notably, the Air 3 will not feature Hasselblad camera tunings, which DJI acquired in 2017. Unfortunately, we cannot determine the camera specifications printed on each lens cover. For reference, DJI equipped the Air 2 with a 1/2-inch CMOS sensor, with a 1-inch CMOS sensor offered in the Air 2S. Still, Quandt has established that the Air 3 has roughly a 30% larger battery than its predecessor, which has a 4,241 mAh/62.6 Wh capacity.
Moreover, Quandt notes that DJI will not sell the Air 3 on its own. Instead, it appears that the drone will start with the new RC-N2 remote controller, pictured below. While a release date remains unknown for now, Quandt has revealed UK pricing for the upcoming drone and its accessory packages. According to the leaker, Amazon UK listed the following prices for the DJI Air 3 and its various Fly More Combo packages:
- DJI Air 3
- With RC-N2 - £962
- With Fly More Combo/DJI RC-N2 - £1,199
- With Fly More Combo/DJI RC-2 - £1,379
