Last week, DJI launched the Air 3, a 720 g drone with a pair of 48 MP cameras. Succeeding the Air 2 and Air 2S, the Air 3 was expected to debut alongside the Osmo Action 4. However, the company's Double Up launch event passed without any mention of an Osmo Action 3 successor.
Nonetheless, it appears that DJI is ready to announce a new Osmo Action camera. As the image above shows, the company has now announced a 'Time to Shine' launch event, which commences at 09:00 EDT (13:00 UTC) on August 2. While has done its best to obscure the camera in question, its design matches with leaked Osmo Action 4 renders.
Additionally, the likes of @Quadro_News have shared now shared various high-resolution images of the Osmo Action 4, as well as its quasi-smartwatch accessory. In short, this looks like a small camera remote that should make the action camera more flexible. It seems that DJI will sell this accessory separately and not as part of the camera's Adventure or Standard Combo packs.
Moreover, @Quadro_News has got their hands on full specification sheets, which we have reproduced below. Reputedly, the Osmo Action 4 relies on a 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor and can record 4K videos with a peak 120 FPS resolution. @Quadro_News adds that the Osmo Action 4 will start at €429. In comparison, the Adventure Combo will cost €529, which includes the camera itself, plus an extension rod, three batteries and a battery case.
