An apparent engineering sample of the DJI Air 3 has appeared online, only a few days after images of the drone's retail packaging leaked. As one screenshot below shows, someone was selling the prototype for an ambitious CNY 6,000 (~US$832) despite apparent crash damage. There would be no guarantee that the drone would work either, even if replacement propellers were sourced.
Still, the new leak emphasises that the Air 3 will launch with two cameras. Seemingly, the Air 3 combines an f/1.7 and 24 mm equivalent focal length primary camera with a telephoto camera that possesses an f/2.4 aperture and a 70 mm equivalent focal length. Unfortunately, no other camera specifications have surfaced yet. Moreover, the bottom of the Air 3 has been seen for the first time, also embedded below.
As DroneXL notes, the Air 3 has downward vision system sensors for obstacle avoidance and landing guidance, as well as a small LED light. Furthermore, the Air 3 has an IR sensing system, along with rear-facing obstacle avoidance sensors, air vents and a cover hiding its MicroSD card and USB Type-C connections. DJI remains quiet about the launch of the Air 3. However, the certification of the drone and its accessories at the FCC in the US implies that DJI is close to announcing the Air 3.
