Leaked Sony A7CII images reveal minimal ergonomic design tweaks and confirm August 29 launch date
The imminent launch of the Sony A7CII as the follow-up to Sony's A7C compact camera was leaked a few short months ago, but new leaked images (via Alex NG on YouTube) of the mirrorless body reveal some small, but significant changes to the camera's handling.
In addition to the horizontal scroll wheel on the front of the camera under the shutter button, which was previously revealed, it appears as though the A7CII will feature an additional collar switch under the mode dial for video, stills, and S&Q modes. Additionally, there appears to be at least one more custom button on the back of the camera, which will surely come in handy.
The A7CII is poised to be a compact all-rounder, so Sony's ergonomics improvements make a lot of sense, and they're bound to be especially welcome additions to a compact camera — a form factor where manufacturers normally prioritise form over function.
The post about the leaked images also reaffirms an August 29 release date for the Sony A7CII. No information on pricing has leaked just yet, but if the A6700 launch is anything to go by, we should expect to see the same US$1,799 launch price as the original A7C.
