Sony camera leak points to A7 V or A7s IV full-frame cameras after May ZV-E10 II APS-C launch
It looks like Sony has a big year planned for its full-frame camera line-up. Shortly after it launched the ZV-1 II in May last year, rumours started surfacing of the APS-C ZV-E10 II coming in May 2024. Now, an alleged leak from Sony Alpha Rumors claims that Sony will release two full-frame cameras towards the end of 2024.
It's unclear exactly what these new full-frame cameras will be, but the report does claim one will be from the Sony Alpha line-up — indicating something like a Sony A7 V or A7s IV — while the other will be from the FX cinema series.
These new full-frame cameras are both slated for launch in Q3 of 2024, but only after the supposed launch of the Sony ZV-E10 II, which we have reported on before. Much like the ZV-E10 (curr. $698 on Amazon) that precedes it, the ZV-E10 II looks like it will stuff similar hardware to the current A6000-series camera into a more affordable, more compact body. In this case, that means the 26 MP APS-C backside-illuminated CMOS sensor with 5-axis image stabilisation from the Sony A6700 (curr. $1,398 on Amazon) and a Sony E-mount.
It's still early days when it comes to leaks about the new full-frame cameras, but an update to either the A7 IV (curr. $2,498 on Amazon) or A7s III (curr. $3,498 on Amazon) is likely an exciting prospect to many professional and wealthy hobbyist photographers.
