Insta360 is now selling a new action camera, not long after various leakers revealed numerous details about the device. As expected, the Insta360 X4 (curr. $499.99 on Amazon) arrives with 8K/30 FPS capabilities with 200 Mbps bandwidth, which is beyond the Hero 12 Black that GoPro has left at 5.3K/30 FPS. Similarly, the Insta360 X4 surpasses the Insta360 Ace Pro in this regard, which peaks at 24 FPS when recording 8K videos.
According to Insta360, it has equipped the X4 with a 1/2-inch sensor that outputs at 72 MP with an f/1.9 aperture and a 6.7 mm full frame equivalent focal length. Moreover, the Insta360 X4 supports 4K/100 FPS slow motion footage capture, as well as 360 Horizon Lock and FlowState Stabilisation technologies for effective image stabilisation. On top of that, Insta360 claims that the camera's built-in 2,290 mAh battery should last over 2 hours when recording in 5.7K/30 FPS with 360-degree mode activated.
Furthermore, the Insta360 X4 has a 2.5-inch display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass and can transfer videos to a smartphone over Wi-Fi or using a 5 Gbps USB Type-C connection. The Insta360 X4 start at $499.99, which includes the camera itself and a standard lens guard.
