Sony ZV-E10 II leak confirms launch date for new E-Mount APS-C hybrid camera with A6700 power
The Sony ZV-E10 was a very attractive, pocket-sized APS-C camera with support for interchangeable lenses when it first launched in July 2021. Since then, however, Fujifilm's X-S10 has come down in price significantly to just $899 on Amazon, offering photographers more features for only a little less than the Sony. New leaks shared by SonyAlphaRumors claim to confirm previous sketchy rumours that the ZV-E10 II will soon be on the way to help Sony regain some of the budget vlogging and travel camera market from the competition.
According to the latest rumours, the Sony ZV-E10 II is confirmed to arrive in Spring 2024, which could be as early as the middle of March or the middle of June, although the original ZV-E10 launched towards the end of July 2021.
This puts the launch of the ZV-E10 II ahead of what one might expect, given current patterns. Even the Sony ZV-1 II (curr. $748 on Amazon) that launched recently landed almost exactly three years after the original ZV-1.
Very little is known or has been leaked about the upcoming ZV-E10 II. Previously, the existing ZV-E10 borrowed much of its specifications from the Sony A6600, although with a cut-back feature set, like EIS instead of IBIS. If the same remains true for the upcoming ZV-E10 II, we could soon have a mini Sony A6700 on our hands.
Although the A6700 was somewhat of a disappointment to those expecting a more dramatic update, especially compared to its APS-C contemporaries, like the Fujifilm X-S20 (curr. $1,299 on Amazon), it remains a powerful camera. Taking from the A6700's spec sheet, we could see the ZV-E10 II arrive with an updated 26 MP BSI sensor and features like 4K 120 fps capture, 4:2:2 10-bit oversampled 4K video at 60 fps, and industry-leading AI-enhanced focus tracking and subject recognition.
