Insta360 had announced that it had gotten into smart action camera technology in earnest with the launch of its latest GoPro-rivalling cameras. That included a foray into AI with a "game-changing" new feature that allows Ace and Ace Pro (which still goes for $449 on Amazon today (January 19, 2024)) users to edit their footage using generative AI prompts.
AI Warp, which is found under the Shot Lab (Insta360's equivalent of Samsung's Expert RAW>Labs section for its flagship Galaxy S-series smartphones' camera app), is rated to modify video clips in response to "any word or phrase" (even keywords such as 'costumes') as well as the OEM's "incredible preset prompts".
Accordingly, its users may be able to make their subjects animated, put them in a cyberpunk backdrop or even alter their appearance after editing with AI Warp. There are some limitations, however, not the least that Insta360 only allows users access to it 3 times a day for free.
Nevertheless, it is now becoming available to the owners of more Insta360 products to try out for themselves. They include the 360° X3 camera and its predecessors; the GO 3 and GO 2; the Flow, the ONE RS and its 360° counterpart with dual 1-inch Leica-branded sensors, currently available for $799 on Amazon.
