Insta360 ONE RS: New action camera launches with three lens options to battle the DJI Action 2 and the GoPro Hero 10 Black
Insta360 has unveiled the ONE RS, a new action camera available in multiple editions. Positioned as an alternative to the DJI Action 2 and GoPro Hero 10 Black, it remains to be seen whether the Insta360 ONE RS will also suffer from heat issues. Like its predecessor, the Insta360 ONE RS has three camera options, all with 1,445 mAh batteries, 5 metres of water resistance, a touch screen and a horizon lock.
Additionally, all models come with 360° horizon levelling and FlowState stabilisation with 'improved stabilization for wide angle footage'. Moreover, Insta360 has equipped each model with three microphones, a faster Wi-Fi module, its new RS core and an interchangeable lens. At launch, Insta360 offers the ONE RS with 4K Boost, 360 and 1-inch Wide Angle lenses, which output at up to 48 MP, 18 MP and 19 MP, respectively.
Understandably, the three lenses differ in multiple aspects, including their peak video resolutions and ISO ranges. According to Insta360, the 4K Boost Lens has a 100-6,400 ISO range, while the 360 and 1-inch lenses only manage 100-3,200. Separately, only the 4K Boost Lens provides Active HDR. In comparison, the 360 Lens includes an invisible selfie stick that the other lenses lack.
The Insta360 ONE RS starts at US$299.99 with a 4K Boost Lens. By contrast, the 1-inch edition retails from US$549.99, the same price as the 4K Boost Lens and 360 Lens when bought together, which Insta360 markets as the Twin Edition. Alternatively, Insta360 sells the ONE RS with all its lenses as the Trio Edition from US$847.98. The company offers various kit, care and warranty options too.
