Insta360 Flow launches as a new portable, versatile, AI-powered smartphone gimbal
Sony touts its new ZV-E1 as the all-in-one content-creation camera; then again, Insta360 has a different perspective: hang on to your best existing mobile camera (although it seems to prefer an up-to-date iPhone in its marketing) and augment its potential with the "AI tracking stabilizer": its new Flow gimbal.
The new accessory does indeed come for the DJI OM line with "Deep Track 3.0", in which the aforementioned AI works its motors to keep the subject it focuses on in the shot. It can also make editing and highlight-reel suggestions in the Insta360 app.
The gimbal also exhibits its brand's DNA with its ability to spin the device it bears around in 360 Panorama mode. The Flow's partially transparent build also integrates its own selfie telescope and tripod, as well as "intuitive" physical SmartWheel controls.
There is also a 2,900mAh battery for up to 12 hours of use between charging sessions via USB type-C, a port that also allows the mounted smartphone to share in its capacity via cable if necessary. Insta360's new take on the motorized mobile photography accessory can be found on Amazon for US$159 right now.
