Xiaomi has shared a mysterious teaser on Weibo. As the image below shows, Xiaomi claims that it will host an 'Open Day' on April 9. Interested parties can register on April 6, although Xiaomi will only welcome 500 fans onsite. Unfortunately, Xiaomi has not provided any other details about the Open Day yet.
Incidentally, April 6 also marks Xiaomi's 13th anniversary. As such, it is unclear whether Xiaomi will also use April 9 to announce new hardware, such as the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. According to Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi will start teasing the Xiaomi 13 Ultra next week, albeit only in its home market. The Xiaomi 13 Pro may serve as the company's premier global smartphone though, assuming Xiaomi follows the same strategy as the Xiaomi 12 series.
Lei Jun implied otherwise in August, but he merely remarked that Xiaomi would sell 'the next iteration of Ultra' globally. Arguably, the Xiaomi 13 Pro fits this description with few features separating it and the Xiaomi 12S Ultra. In any case, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra is expected to launch with a 'Dark Light' telephoto camera that should rival the Find X6 Pro and its Sony IMX890 telephoto camera. The improved telephoto camera is rumoured to offer 5x optical zoom too, compared to 3.2x for the Xiaomi 13 Pro.
